Sneak Peak #1 POI 4.17 Karma – “Consider This a Warning!”

The first sneak peek for Person of Interest Season 4, Karma, shows us a bleak flashback. We see what must be the lowest point in Harold Finch’s (Michael Emerson) life. He is recently injured, still unaccustomed to the chair or his handicap.

Finch rolls passed able bodied New Yorkers who pay no attention to the angry looking cripple. Harold is a solitary figure, stiff and bundled away from the rest of humanity. Finch makes his slow way to the library, pulls down the dust cloth to uncover the glass board. We see the yellow square that forms around the windows—a familiar sight we all have missed.

Harold places a single picture on the boards: Alicia Corwin (Elizabeth Marvel). Harold then calls her using a voice distorter to accuse her of murdering Nathan Ingram. Interesting that Harold does not accuse her of the deaths of all those on the ferry. Neither does he mention Harold Martin, Grace’s fiancé.

Harold says to consider this a warning. He then gathers what looks like the makings of a bomb. Alicia immediately calls Special Counsel, but is blocked by the receptionist. Harold jots down the name anyway. We see he has a list. Alicia is at the top, followed by Denton Weeks. Harold now adds Special Counsel to his hit list.

He then gets a message for a new Number on his laptop. It is for Harold Martin: Admin. One of twelve aliases, but the one that is most attached to Grace and should be considered dead. Is The Machine trying to stop Harold from committing murder? Is it using Grace as the only human still connecting Harold to this world and his sanity? With Nathan gone Harold has gone over the edge it seems. What brought him back from that precipice?
