Person of Interest 4×16 ‘Blunt’ Video Highlights
Blunt – Press Release Synopsis
REESE MUST PROTECT A STREET-SMART GRIFTER WHEN HER PLAN TO STEAL CASH FROM A MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARY GOES UP IN SMOKE.
“Blunt” – Reese and Finch must protect Harper, a street-smart grifter, when her plan to steal cash from a medical marijuana dispensary goes up in smoke.
The episode Blunt wasn’t really a save the number episode—actually the person needing saving was Trey (Connor Hines), the pretend Harper Rose’s (Annie Ilonzeh) boyfriend—the POI was quite capable of taking care of herself. Harper’s plan to steal the money from the medical marijuana dispensary came off without much of a hitch; it was who Harper actually stole the money from that was the big problem and stoner Trey got caught in the backlash.
Person of Interest Season 4 Episode 16 saw the return of the Brotherhood and Dominic (Winston Duke). The gang and its leader have expanded their operations into the legal sale of Marijuana in New York. Unfortunately the US government hasn’t made medical marijuana legal and the money from sales can’t be banked. The Brotherhood stored the money and transported the cash to a storage facility using its own security firm. That is who Harper stole the money from after setting up a cartel to take the fall and why Trey was taken by Dominic.
There was some John Reese (Jim Caviezel) kick-ass action in the night club when both he and the Brotherhood caught up to Harper. She tried to slip away but Detective Fusco (Kevin Chapman) was waiting outside. The money was gone so Harold Finch (Michael Emerson) and company use their own funds to try to buy Harper’s safety and Trey’s release. There was a stalemate at a café between Reese and Dominic. Dominic wasn’t interested in a trade only asked questions about Reese’s interfering in his business while Elias gets a pass.
Harper agreed to help in freeing her supposed boyfriend but on her terms. Reese and Fusco rescue Trey, only when Fusco and the police try to arrest the Brotherhood along with the members of the cartel, the Brotherhood’s security detail was legit. Dominic had a talk in the end wanting to enlist her and her talents into his organization, not kill her. The question at the end of the episode as Harper said her thank you to Finch and Reese was, would she return as a possible ally to the Team or foe as a recruit to the Brotherhood?
And in a subplot Root (Amy Acker) is on a mission for the Machine it seems to recruit people through an app and a security program developed by a company owned by Caleb Phipps (Luke Kleintank), a previous number saved by Finch and now successful business man. Are the various groups recruiting for their causes as we head towards the Person of Interest finale of season four?
