Person of Interest – 3.21 – Beta – Promo
“Beta“ – Greer (Jonah Nolan) exploits Finch’s greatest weakness in an attempt to lure him out of hiding: his love for his former fiancee, Grace Hendricks. It’s the first of three episodes leading to the season finale.
In the ending sequence of Death Benefit, we see Reese (Jim Caviezel), a wounded Shaw (Sarah Shahi) and Finch (Michael Emerson) on foot, eluding the police when Finch looks into a camera and at his friends then disappears. There is also the ominous ending of Samaritan online and with its 24 hour access to government feeds of NYC, Greer asks it to find Harold Finch.
I think it might be Samaritan can find everything about Harold Finch, his aliases and people each alias was associated with, including Grace (Carrie Preston) Harold’s former fiance. (I wonder what name she knew Harold by, certainly not Crane or Wren or even Finch.) But obviously Samaritan can’t find the man himself. Harold built his own massive surveillance system and certainly knows how to hide from one. And of coarse Greer doesn’t care who he hurts to get what he wants. He wants to get rid of Finch and is not above using an innocent woman as bait.
I may be wrong. It is hard to tell from a 20 second promo but I think there is some kind of trade off, Grace for Finch maybe. Finch has been pushed as far as he can go. I hated seeing Finch order Reese(?) to kill them all if they harmed Grace in anyway, but sometimes even the best of men can only take so much. Greer and his group stepped over Finch’s line.
Shaw and Reese appear to apprehend Root (Amy Acker). What, who was she hiding from? Has the Machine sent her to help them out and is Greer, Decima and Samaritan who and what she is hiding from?
Will the team get Grace safely from Greer and Decima. Will Finch trade himself for her or fight them from the shadows? And what of Samaritan?
