CBS To Rebroadcast POI S03E07 The Perfect Mark

In The Perfect Mark the number was a conman posing as hypnotherapist. Hayden Price (Aaron Staton) was actually a good therapist and was thanked by some of his patients for helping them. Just too bad he also pumped his patients for sensitive information while they were under hypnosis. Unfortunately one of his scams to acquire an autographed baseball worth over four million dollars put him in the cross hairs of HR. One of his patient’s, an antiquities dealer, was an accomplice in a money laundering scheme ran by HR. Price changed the auction records and his patient, the dealer, thought he was buying some worthless fake put up for auction by HR when in actuality the baseball was the real deal. Hayden later gave a young soda vendor $20 for the baseball the young man bought from the antiquities dealer.

When HR found out they had been tricked they went after Price who actually thought he had the real autographed baseball. Hayden gave himself and the baseball up to HR in return for the release of his kidnapped girlfriend. Price was stunned to find out what he had was also a fake. The team ends up saving Price with some help from former HR member, Officer Mike Laskey (Brian Wiles). Come to find out the conman had been bested in his own game, being conned by his con-woman girlfriend. She headed off for parts unknown with the real baseball and Hayden was prompted to leave town and open a new office far away from New York.

In the shocker for the night, Detective Terney (Al Sapienza) was tasked by an angry Officer Patrick Simmons  (Robert John Burke) to find that baseball. Showing up at Laskey’s apartment to get the young cop’s help, Terney caught him with Detective Carter. In the shootout between the three Laskey was killed and Carter found out from a dying Terney, Alonzo Quinn (Clarke Peters) was the head of HR.
